one of the world’s greatest natural spectacles

Information about Victoria Falls

A World Heritage Site, Victoria Falls is one of the world’s greatest natural spectacles. Long before the Scottish missionary and explorer Dr David Livingstone ‘discovered’ the Victoria Falls in 1855, the local Batonga people had named them Mosi-oa-Tunya, which means ‘the smoke that thunders’. The Falls presents a spectacular sight of awe-inspiring beauty and grandeur on the Zambezi River, forming the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe.

Interesting facts about Victoria Falls

The Victoria Falls are 1,708 metres wide and 108 metres high.

Every minute, over 5 million cubic metres of water pour over the falls.

You can see the Falls from two countries: Zimbabwe and Zambia.
